Guru Teg Bahadur College of Nursing is under the management of Guru Teg Bahadur School of Nursing Society (Regd.), Jandiala Guru, Distt. Amritsar. It is the new of its kind in imparting the liberal education, intellectual moral and physical on sound national and cosmopolitan line with a view to broaden the minds of the young students and to promote educational research training and experimentation for the needs of the country in Para Medical / Medical Sciences.
In view of the above, Guru Teg Bahadur College of Nursing has started regular G.N.M. 3 yrs (Diploma Staff Nursing Course) in 1997 & B. Sc. Nursing 4 yrs (Degree Course) in 2008 & Post Basic Nursing 2 yrs in 2013 & M.Sc. Nursing 2 yrs in 2013.

G.N.M. (Diploma Staff Nursing Course)
Recognized by Punjab Govt., Chandigarh, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh and Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.
Admission Requisites:
- Candidate should have passed +2 examinations from a recognized University / Board in any stream. Preference will be given to medical candidates.
- Candidate should have with minimum 40% marks in aggregate.
- Age 17 to 35 years on or before 31st December of the year of the admission.
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
Entrance / Selection Test
Selection of the candidates is purely on merit basis according to P.N.R.C. Norms.
Duration
Duration of the course is 3 years.

B. Sc. Nursing (Degree Course)
Affiliated by Punjab Govt., Chandigarh, Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Chandigarh, Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
Admission Requisites:
- The minimum age for the admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of the admission.
- The minimum Educational Requirements shall be the passing of:
- Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years course)
or - Senior School Certificate Examination (10+2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2)
or - An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a Recognized Board or University with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English with minimum 45% aggregate marks (PCBE).
- Candidate shall be medically fit.
Entrance / Selection Test
Selection of the candidates is based on merit of the entrance examination held by the University or Competent Authority.
Duration
Duration of the course is 4 years including internship.

Purpose of Training
To prepare Nurse to practice comprehensive nursing care in hospital as well as in the community by means of a planned education programme.
To provide a base for advanced study & specialization in nursing which will assist Nurses in their personal and professional development so that they may make their maximum contribution to society as individuals, citizens and nurses.
General Objectives of Course
To enable the students:
- To acquire knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of Nursing.
- To develop skill in nursing techniques in order to practice comprehensive Nursing care.
- To develop ability to take up responsibility in every field of life.
- To learn to co-operate with the follow students and others, thereby developing a good inter personal relationship with others.
- To acquire knowledge and understanding of the work in hospital and in the community.
- To acquire knowledge and understanding of international code of Nursing Ethics and accordingly.
- To learn to lead a well disciplined life.
- To learn to contribute in the training programme by teaching junior students.
- To understand current health problems of our country and practice nursing at the highest possible accordingly within the resources available keeping in view the priorities.
- To develop professionally through motivation for continuing education.
Pre-Requisites for Nursing
The work of a Nurse is demanding and she carries heavy responsibility for welfare of patients care. The essential qualities are the concern for welfare of others, dedication to the service of patients, high standard of character, honestly reliability and compassion. She also should possess ability and eagerness to continue earnest study in the theoretical as well as the practical side of Nursing profession, those who get admitted should try to develop these qualities.
M.Sc. Nursing ( B.Sc or Post Basic B.Sc. Passed with 55% Marks )
OBG Nursing, Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Psychiateric Nursing.

Duration of the course is 2 years.
